Pastor Kevin Washington was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior Feb 24, 1985. His conversion to Christ was such a turning point in his life that he immediately became a committed personal soul winner for the Lord, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone he knew. The following week, March 2, 1985, he married his wife of 26 years, Rachelle Washington.
Approximately a year after, he and his wife relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. They found jobs and they were still consistent in the work of the Lord. One day, after taking a day off to consecrate himself before the Lord, he heard from the Father so strong and clearly to preach his word. He could not deny Him, and so he immediately went out to the nearest public place and began to preach the gospel on the streets of Atlanta, Ga. For about a year, Pastor Washington would preach the Gospel Of Jesus Christ after work, on the streets of Downtown Atlanta.
Then one day, the Lord directed him to go to bible school. Although he never desired to go to bible school, he was obedient to the Spirit of the Lord. And the Lord led him across country to Rhema Bible Training Center located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The Lord told him that his obedience to make this move was not just for him. Pastor Washington started school at Rhema in 1990 and graduated in 1992 in the field of Evangelism.
After graduating, Pastor Washington and his wife relocated to Miami, Florida in October of 1992. He then immediately joined a Christian church and became an active member. He was soon promoted to lead the evangelism outreach ministry and then later promoted to become an associate minister. When his assignments were completed at his current church, he joined a larger church and was soon teaching the word of God to a weekly adult class. One day, the Lord spoke to him again, and told him to establish a church. It was something that he never desired to do; but of course, he was obedient to the Spirit of the Lord. He scheduled a meeting with his pastor to share what the Lord had revealed to him. His pastor had confirmed the calling of the Lord, by telling him that the Lord had already revealed to him that he would be leaving; he told Pastor Washington that he just didn’t want to accept it. His pastor then took him before the congregation and announced his leaving and also took up a special offering to help him get a facility to start a church. Pastor Washington and his wife founded The Glorious Gospel of Christ Church January 3, 1999.
Pastor Kevin Washington's main goal is to build up God's people in faith, in the Word of God and to empower them to take the gospel to the world!
